Day – 1: Arrival.

2: City Tour/ Transfer to Parc Des Volcans.

3: Gorilla Tracking

5: Transfer to Gisenyi by relax Lake Kivu.

6: Transfer Nyungwe

7: Chimpanzee Tracking

8: Transfer back to Kigali.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1; Arrive Kigali. D.

On arrival, you will be welcomed by the hotel guide, who will transfer you to the hotel. Relax at your hotel as your take in the fresh air of the land of a thousand hills- Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at the Retreat Kigali

Day 2; City Tour. / Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. BLD

Today morning,  after breakfast , you will transfers to go visit the genocide memorial and national museum, and then later in the afternoon you will drive to transfer to Volcanoes national park. Overnight at Bisate LuxuryLodge.

Drive Time: 3hrs.

Day 3; Gorilla tracking. BLD

Take breakfast and then later take your packed lunch with you for briefing at the ORTPN offices for briefing for gorilla tracking escorts and rangers. You will then start the search for the gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. The bamboo forest log will dribble as you first perceive sound the breaking of bamboo indicating that the gorillas are nearer then bingo you face to face with one of the most charming and mesmerizing beings in the world. After gorilla tracking and encounter, stay with the gorillas for 1 hour and then and trek back to your lodge.

There is an optional visit to the twin lakes of Ruhundo and Bulera but this can only be done if gorilla trackingends early.

Relax as you wait for dinner and over-night at your lodge.

Day 4; Golden monkey Trek/ Afternoon Visit to Dian Fossey Tombs and Ellen Musuem. BLD

Wake up early in the morning and then assemble at the ORTPN Offices once again to get another briefing from therangers to prepare you for Golden monkey trekking. The trek will take 2 to 4 hours returning in the afternoon. In the afternoon, you will go visit the Ellen Museum. Overnight at your previous lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Gisenyi. BLD 1hrs drive.

Today in the morning right after breakfast, you will transfer to Gisenyi. Visit the hot water springs and then go kayaking on Lake Kivu. Overnight at Kivu Serena Hotel

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe. BLD

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Nyungwe National park. The drive will take 4 to 5 hoursarriving in the afternoon. Overnight at One and Only Nyungwe house.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking. BLD

 You will go for a Chimpanzee tracking safari in Nyungwe Forest. Search for man’s closest cousin theChimpanzees with the aid of the rangers who will also give you the names and knowledge about the other flora andfauna that you will encounter along the Chimpanzee trekking tour in Nyungwe forest. Requires an early departure from the Hotel

Later return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, there is an optional you will go for a canopy walk. Thewalkway way stretches over 160 meters divided into 3 sections. The first section is a 45 meters stretch, followed bythe longest of 90emetres and then 25 meters. Overnight and dinner your lodge.

Day 8; Transfer to back to Kigali. BLD

 In the morning after breakfast, go visit the Natural history museum and then drive to proceed to your hotel in Kigali. The drive will take 3 and half hours arriving in the afternoon. Overnight at the Retreat Kigali

Day 9: Transfer to Akagera National Park. BLD 2 and half hours drive. BLD

In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive. The drive will take 3hrs, to transfer to Akagera National Park. Enjoy a game drive en-route as you transfer to the Lodge. Overnight at Magashi Camp.

Day 10: Game drives / Boat rides. / Transfer to Kigali. BLD

Before sunrise, you will go for game drive in the park searching for wildlife, and then later in the afternoon, youwill go for a boat ride along Akagera River. Later in the afternoon you will drive to transfer back to Kigali. Proceedto airport to catch your onward flight.

Best Time to Visit Rwanda

Any time of the year is good to visit, however it is easier and less strenuous to trek during the months of June  to October and  January to Mid march. These are the drier months of the years. The 10 days Rwanda safari can still done also during the rainy season, because when it rains, it raining for just a couple of hours and shines the rest of the day.
