Detailed Itinerary

Day 1, Transfer from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi

At 7 am, you will be picked up from your hotel and begin the journey to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda, between Kisoro and Kabale. Along the way, stop at the Mpambire Drum Making Centre for a cultural experience. You will also stop at the Equator for photographs and souvenir shopping if you wish. Continue to Mbarara for lunch before heading on to Kabale and Lake Bunyonyi. On arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2, Lake Bunyonyi community walk, canoe ride, bird watching

After breakfast, go for a community walk and visit the Batwa and Abaheesi communities to interact with them and learn more about their daily life before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, where you will have a chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape, including some of the lake’s 29 islands. Bird lovers should also watch out for the small birdlife from which the lake is said to derive its name. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, evening game drive

Have breakfast in the morning, go for a nature walk, and enjoy a final view of the surrounding landscape. Then drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the savannah and the Kigezi highlands. On arrival, check in at the lodge, have lunch, and prepare for an evening game drive. Day 4, Horseback riding and boat cruise on Lake Mburo

After breakfast, go for a horseback ride in the park. The ride offers chances to see eland, antelopes, sitatunga, herds of buffalo, topi, bohor reedbuck, impala, warthogs, hyenas, leopards, jackals, and defassa waterbuck before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you may see crocodiles, a variety of birds, hippos in their natural habitat, antelopes, and otters. Lake Mburo National Park is known for its otter population. On the way back, watch out for the sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5, Morning game drive, return to Kampala

After breakfast, go for one more morning drive in the park. Later, return to the lodge, pack your bags, and begin the transfer back to Kampala. This marks the end of your 5 days Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo safari.
