Mweya safari lodge is located inside the park along the Mweya peninsula. In addition, from the lodge, you get a clear view of the Rwenzori mountains. The lodge lies between the great rift valley in the east and the Kazinga channel that flows between lake George and Edward just behind the property and so this means the adventure begins the moment you step inside the gate. This is one of the first luxury facility in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the late Queen of England stayed during her visit to Queen Elizabeth national park from which the lodge derives its name.

Rooms

Mweya has got different categories of rooms and these include 32 Classic rooms. These include both double rooms with double beds, single rooms for solo travelers and well as twin rooms with two beds. These rooms have private balconies each thus some space where you get to watch birds and wildlife in the evening as you relax after a long day. All rooms are en-suite with hot showers that are heated up with solar panels. All rooms have telephones in-case you need to reach the main area, or room service.  Fan’s and Ac’s are provided in the rooms to cool the rooms on hot days.

The other category are the safari tents. There are 4 luxury safari tents, 2 of them have double beds and the other 2 have twin beds. They are attached to a built en-suite bathroom with showers, a dressing table and hot water flowing. They have a spacious sitting area outside the sleeping area with views of the amazing Kazinga channel. The tents are probably the best choice if you are interested in having that feeling of camping rather than some expensive hotel somewhere.

Luxurious Options Available at Mweya safari lodge.

Mweya safari lodge has 12 deluxe room and all of these have Ac’s with en-suite showers and electric charging pots.

Mweya also has got 2 suites. These are a lot more spacious than the other two categories therefore giving you more room for relaxing and feel more like at home. Both suites have got private spacious living areas which are well furnished with comfortable sofas, they both have mini bars for refreshments, they have large windows for better views, wooden floors, among other amenities. These are some of the best rooms for those who wish to spend night is a really luxury room without going overboard.

The queen cottage and this is for the those who want to have an extremely comfortable stay. This room does give one a  whole different experience of sleeping out in the wilderness because of its uniqueness. It has got has en-suite bathrooms, sunken bathtubs, a spacious living area, and a dining area. In addition, it has a fully functioning kitchenette, mini bar, AC unit, to mention but a few. This room also has really big balcony and very open view of the surrounding vegetation therefore have better chance of seeing the wildlife from the balcony and also a view of the kazinga channel.

Last but not least is the presidential cottage. This is an equally spacious cottage with similar amenities as the queen cottages only with a little bit more of elegance to meet the standards of a presidential residence. There are extreme privacy measures, decorated with some unique rustic kind of furniture which makes the room look so beautiful.

Facilities:

Mweya lodge has a fully stocked bar, a restaurant and a swimming pool overlooking the Kazinga Channel.  Coffee and tea machines are readily available for the beverage fanatics and can be enjoyed any time of the day.
