Detailed Itinerary
Day 1, Transfer from Kampala, Ssezibwa Falls, Source of the Nile, Sipi Falls
After breakfast, depart Kampala at around 7 am and drive east towards Sipi Falls. On the way, stop at Ssezibwa Falls for a short visit and cultural experience. Continue to Jinja to visit the Source of the Nile, one of Uganda’s most famous landmarks. Have lunch in Jinja, then continue the scenic drive towards the foothills of Mount Elgon, arriving in Sipi in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge and relax while enjoying views of the surrounding hills and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge.
Day 2, Sipi Falls nature walk, abseiling, Arabica coffee tour
After breakfast, go for a guided nature walk to Sipi Falls, exploring the series of waterfalls and surrounding landscapes. The walk offers scenic views, local interaction, and opportunities for photography. Later, take part in an abseiling experience near the falls, where you descend with views over the valley and waterfalls. Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, go for a coffee tour in Sipi village. Learn how Arabica coffee is grown, harvested, processed, and prepared by local farmers in the Mount Elgon region. This experience gives insight into one of Uganda’s most important coffee-growing areas. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge.
Day 3, Jewish heritage visit in Mbale, return to Kampala
After breakfast, depart Sipi and drive to Mbale for a visit to the Jewish heritage centre. During the visit, learn about the history of the Abayudaya community and their unique cultural and religious heritage in Uganda.
