Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transport to Volcanoes National Park.

In the morning right after breakfast, you will be picked up from Kigali to transfer to Volcanoes national park. Arrive the park in the afternoon. Check into your hotel and relax. Or you can opt to do any of the follow activities;

• Visit the Twin Lakes.
• Visit the Caves
• Visit Iby’iwacu community

Overnight at

Basic- Kinigi Guest House

Moderate- Five Volcanoes hotel

Luxury – Sabyinyo silverback lodge or Virunga Lodge ( For upgrades Bisate Lodge )

Day 2: Gorilla tracking.

Today you will go gorilla trekking in the park. The trek starts at 8am, and it takes between 2 to 6 hours’ round trip. After meeting and spending time with the gorillas you will return to the starting point. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek;

This morning you will return to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the forest o search for golden monkeys. At 8am, start the walk through the forest in search for golden monkeys. This is guided walk with park rangers, who will tell you more about the forest, the volcanoes and we recommend that you keep your eyes, out looking for golden monkeys and also watch out for the scenic views of the volcanoes. After meeting the golden monkeys, you will return to the starting point.  End of Trek. Golden monkey trek takes between 2 to 4 hours. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Akagera national park.

At 7am, you will depart Volcanoes national park to transfer to Akagera national park. This is a long drive that will take you about 5 hours. Arrive the park in the afternoon. Go for an afternoon game drive. Overnight at

Day 5: Game drive / Boat ride.

Today you will spend the entire day searching for wildlife, including the Big 5 animals. In the morning you will go for the game drive and later in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 6: Departure.

At 8am, you will depart Akagera national park to transfer back to Kigali. The drive will take 2 and half hours arriving in the late morning hours. Drive to proceed to the airport to catch your ongoing flight. End of 6 days Rwanda wildlife and gorilla tracking safari .
