3 Day Uganda Gorilla Fly-In Safari
This 3-day Uganda gorilla fly-in safari is designed for travellers who want to experience gorilla trekking in Bwindi without the long road journey from Entebbe or Kampala. Instead of spending many hours on the road, you take a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe to either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, followed by a shorter lodge transfer to the gorilla trekking sector of Bwindi. It is one of the best short gorilla safaris in Uganda for travellers with limited time, those seeking a more comfortable journey, or anyone who prefers a more premium travel style. The safari combines the thrill of meeting mountain gorillas in the wild with the convenience of air travel, scenic views over Uganda’s landscapes, and a more relaxed overall pace.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1, fly from Entebbe to Bwindi, lodge transfer, forest arrival
Depart your hotel early and transfer to Entebbe Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, depending on your gorilla permit location. The flight takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and offers scenic views over Uganda’s countryside. On arrival at the airstrip, meet your guide and transfer to your lodge in Bwindi. The drive takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the sector. After checking in, spend the afternoon at leisure. You may take a short guided walk around the lodge area or enjoy views of the forest as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trek. Overnight at Luxury, Gorilla Forest Camp, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2, Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before the trek. You will be assigned a gorilla family and guided into the forest by experienced rangers. The trek can take between 2 and 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and terrain. Once found, spend one hour observing them as they feed, move, and interact. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. If energy allows, you may visit a nearby community or take a short cultural walk in the afternoon. Overnight at previous lodge
Day 3, Return flight from Bwindi to Entebbe, departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe. Flights usually depart mid-morning, arriving in Entebbe around late morning. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward international flight. It is recommended to book an outbound flight later in the afternoon to allow enough connection time
