Are you interested in tracking both chimpanzee and gorillas? Then do this 4 days chimpanzee and gorilla tracking safari in Uganda.  The trip takes you to Kibale national park to trek chimpanzees and then you will proceed to Bwindi to trek gorillas.  Kibale national park is home to over 13 different species of primates and this making it the best place in Uganda to spot some of the primates. However, since Kibale national park has no gorillas hence the reason why the trip takes you to Bwindi.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Kibale national park. / Chimpanzee trekking. LD

At 6am, after your breakfast, you will depart Kampala to transfer to fortportal Kibale national park. The drive will take 6 hours arriving in time for lunch. Have lunch and then later in the afternoon, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, you will start your search for the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking takes between 2 to 4 hours and therefore you should be back by 4 pm.  The walk through the park as you search the chimpanzees in informative and once you meet the chimps, you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. Later return to the starting point and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi forest national park. BLD

In the morning after breakfast, you will embark on the 7-hour journey to transfer to Bwindi. On arrival in Bwindi, you will check into your hotel and you can go visit the batwa pygmies or a nearby local community. This can be organized at an extra fee.  Overnight at

Day 3: Gorilla tracking day.

Today you will go trek gorillas in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. Gorilla tracking takes place in either Bwindi or Mgahinga national park in Uganda. However, this time, we shall be tracking in Bwindi. The actual gorilla trek starts at 8am, however you have to be at the park headquarters at 7am for briefing and allocation of gorilla family to track. Gorilla tracking takes between 2 to 8 hours and you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. Later after the trek you will return to the starting point and then transfer back to your hotel. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 4:  Drive to Kampala.

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer back to Kampala. On the way you may stop by the equator to take some photos before proceeding to Kampala arriving before 4 pm. End of our 4 days chimpanzee and gorilla tracking safari.
