3 days gorilla tracking Mgahinga National park takes you to track gorillas in Mgahinga park which is the sister gorilla tour park to Bwindi. Mgahinga National park is also closer to the Southern part of Bwindi and can be accessed through Kisoro district. Mgahinga park is also 7 to 8 hours drive from Kampala and it is also served by Kisoro airstrip for those who opt to fly. Apart from gorilla tracking the park is also home to golden monkeys. Therefore golden monkey trekking can also be organised in Mgahinga.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive From Kampala to Bwindi
At 7am, you will be picked up from Kampala to transfer to Mgahinga national park. The drive will take 7 to 8 hours arriving in the afternoon On the way t the park, you can stop at the equator for photos and also at the Igongo cultural centre for lunch before proceeding to Mgahinga national park.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Mgahinga National park
In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing, before heading through the forest in search for gorillas. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hr with them following them and learning more about them as you take pictures. Later you will return to your hotel after this gorilla tour. Overnight at the previous hotel.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala.
In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive to transfer back to Kampala. The drive will take 7 to 8 hours. There is also an option of flying back to Entebbe by joining some of the scheduled flights organised by Aerolink.
Gorilla tracking permits for Mgahinga National park are limited. Book your trip as soon as possible to secure your permit.

Therefore, there is no difference in tracking gorillas in Mgahinga and Bwindi. The beauty that is in tracking gorillas, is in the reward that you get once you meet the gorillas.
