The trek starts at Kanyanchu headquarters, where you will receive a briefing before entering the forest trails in search of the chimpanzees. Day 2, transfer from Kibale to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast at 7 am, depart from Kibale National Park and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes about 6 to 7 hours, and you will arrive later in the afternoon. After check-in, relax at your lodge or, depending on your energy levels and arrival time, visit a nearby community to learn more about local life and culture. The guided walk through the forest is both exciting and physically demanding, and the pace is usually determined by the slowest member of the group. As you trek, your guides may share information about the gorillas and the surrounding forest environment. Once the gorillas are found, you are allowed to spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat before returning to the starting point. Overnight at your lodge
Day 4, return to Kampala, Equator stop
Begin the return drive to Kampala as early as 6 am. This is a long road journey of about 8 to 9 hours. On the way, stop at the Equator for a photo opportunity before continuing to Kampala. If preferred, you may also choose to fly back to Kampala at an extra cost.
