Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival. BB

Arrive at the airport to meet our company representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe.

Basic- central Inn Entebbe

Moderate – 2 Friends hotel Entebbe

Day 2: Mabamba wetland. BLD

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer Nakiwogo landing site, take a boat to Kasanje landing site and then drive to Mabamba wetland. Once you reach the wetland, take a wooden motorised boat through the marshes searching for birds. Watch out for the shoebill stork, and plenty of other wetland endemics like the papyrus gonolek.  Later on your will return to your hotel. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Fortportal Kibale. / Birding in Bigodi, BLD.

At 7am, you will depart your hotel to transfer to Fortportal Kibale. Arrive in the afternoon, to have lunch and then later go search for birds in the Bigodi wetland. The wetland is home to 138 different bird species, and of recent they have spotted extra 50 different bird species. Overnight at

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking / Another bird watching trip in Bigodi.

In the morning after breakfast, go for a nature walk in the forest searching for chimpanzees. The walk through the forest is guided and it offers an opportunity to view plenty of birds as you search for chimpanzees. On meeting the chimpanzees you will be allow to spend an hour with the chimps. Later after the trek, you will drive to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Overnight at

Day 5: Game drive and Birdwatching in Kasenyi Area.

Copper sunbird

In the morning before sunrise, you will wake up to a cup of tea or coffee and then with your packed breakfast, go for a game drive and bird search. Watch out for animals and plenty of birds in the area. Later in the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride on the kazinga channel where you will see plenty of animals and also plenty of birds at the shores. Watch out for birds like Pied Kingfisher, Copper Sunbird, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Widowbirds, Bishops, Grey-backed Fiscal, Black-bellied Bustard, Common Button Quail, Red-chested Sunbird, Temminck’s Courser, Black-winged Stilt, Plain-backed Pipit, African Wattled Lapwing, Spur-winged Lapwing, Martial Eagle, Black-headed Gonolek, pelicans and so much more

Day 6: Bird watching in Ishasha sector/ Transfer to Bwindi.

In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to the Ishasha sector to check out the birds that inhabit this area. The drive through will also offer you an opportunity to see tree climbing lions, before you embark on the journey to Bwindi national park. Overnight at

Moderate – Gorilla mist camp / Silverback lodge

Luxury – Buhoma Lodge / Gorilla forest camp.

Day 7: Gorilla tracking.

In the morning right after breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and then later through the forest you will go search for gorillas. Watch out for birds along the way and on meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following the gorillas and taking pictures. Later you will return to the starting point. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 8: Birding along Mubwindi waterfall trail.

In the morning right after you will go for a nature walk along this trail searching for birds. This is the best route for birding in Bwindi. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo / Waruki Valley.

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Lake mburo national park. The drive will take 5 to 6 hours arriving in the afternoon. Have lunch and then go birding in Warukiri and Miriti valley. Watch out for birds like the emerald spotted wood-dove, white headed barbet, brown parrot, Commin Scimitabill white winged tit and so much more.

Day 10; Birding in Lake Mburo/ transfer back to Kampala.

In the morning right after breakfast, go for a nature walk in Lake Mburo park searching for birds and then later in the afternoon, you will drive to transfer back to Kampala. End of 10 days Uganda birding trip.
