Mount Gahinga lodge
Mount Gahinga lodge is the only luxury lodge located on the edges of Mgahinga national park. Mghainga national park is located in the south western Uganda sharing borders with DR.Congo. Given its location, it is the best lodge where anyone can spend a night(s) when they visit to Uganda’s Mgahinga park. The most popular activities that attracts most of the visitors to this park are gorilla or golden monkey tracking, but there are so many others to do in Mgahinga national park.
The lodge is a great starting point for those who want to go for volcano climbing and hikers will find this activity very interesting. You can also go for community walks through the local towns and villages if you want to learn more about the locals. These Batwas are the original inhabitants of this Central African rain forest just like the case is in Bwindi rain forest.
Rooms at Mt Gahinga Lodge.
As matter of fact Gahinga lodge has got a total of 8 bandas . Tow of these are deluxe rooms and the 6 are standard rooms. All of them are designed in an African traditional way using local materials and were all hand built facing Virunga Volcano mountains. These traditionally designed bandas do display the African artistic styles specifically about the Bafumbira local people life-style.
These bandas can accommodate about 16 people in total, on a sharing basis. All bandas have got comfort king size beds, they are all self-contained with en-suite showers and have fireplaces which are lite in the evenings to keep the room. They also have private porches with chairs where you can sit and relax on a free day or in the evenings.
All rooms, the lounge and dining area are decorated with African craft work to make the place more attractive and charming to the guests. The lounge, the gardens and the dining area were recently redesigned to meet the standards of a luxury property and make it more pleasing.

Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga National Park.
From Gahinga lodge, you can opt to track the Nyakagezi gorilla group since it is the closest gorilla family. One can also opt to track gorillas in the southern part of Bwindi gorilla park. Worth noting, a gorilla trek in Mgahinga basically starts from the lodge and then head to the park headquarters. You can also easily access the Sabinyo gorge hiking trail where most of the birding activities are done and if you’re a birder, Sabinyo gorge must be on your list.
