Detailed Itinerary

Day 1, Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, evening game drive

Early in the morning, after breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and get on the road by 7 am. Drive toward southwestern Uganda with stopovers at the Equator and Mbarara town for lunch. Continue through woodlands, long-horned Ankole cattle areas, open grasslands, rift valley escarpments, and tea plantations before reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, go for an evening game drive and later return to the lodge. Overnight, Luxury Mweya Safari Lodge, Mid-range Queen Elizabeth Safari Lodge, Budget Simba Safari Camp

Early in the morning, after breakfast, drive to the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of wildlife. Watch out for animals such as elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, lions, warthogs, and other savannah species. The park is also known for its rich birdlife, with over 600 recorded bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. Later in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. During the cruise, you will have a good chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants, waterbirds, and other wildlife along the shores. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your previous lodge.

Day 3, Return to Kampala, optional cultural stopovers

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out. If time and budget allow, you may opt for an additional activity such as lion tracking or a primate walk before starting the journey back to Kampala. On the way back, stop at Igongo Cultural Centre and Mpambire Drum Centre for cultural experiences that add more depth to the return journey. These visits offer a chance to learn more about the heritage of the Ankole and Buganda regions before continuing to Kampala. Arrive in the late afternoon.
