Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe airport / Kampala City tour / 45 minutes drive. LD

On arrival at the airport, the AA safaris and tours representative will be awaiting with a placard that has your name. Drive to transfer to Kampala, and time permitting you will visit the national museum and tour around.

Day 2: Drive to Jinja 2 hours drive | Jinja city tour | Rafting along the Nile. BLD

After your breakfast, you will be picked by our tour guide from your overnight hotel. You will later move to Jinja. On the way, you will break at Ssezibwa falls the home of the traditional Buganda spirits. Take a walk around the area and listen to the history of this great area.

Carry on to Jinja where you will have the chance of seeing the source of the Nile as you take on the boat ride. Enjoy your lunch enroute and continue to Bujjagali falls where the Mile roars. Be part of the afternoon adventure with the rafters. Later you will drive to return to Kampala.

Day 3: Drive to Bwindi 8 to 9 hours BLD

After your warm breakfast, head southwestwards to the land of the gorillas. Have a stopover at the equator for photographs, stand in both the northern and southern part of the earth at the same time and perform the water experiment. Enjoy your lunch enroute and continue to Bwindi. You will see the undulating hills of western Uganda and admire the beautiful green vegetation that covers the slopes of the high lands. Get to Bwindi late in the evening because the terrain is quite slippery when it rains and most of the roads are winding roads. Check in and have your dinner and overnight at:

Day 4: Gorilla tracking safari in Uganda. BLD

Following breakfast, carry your tracking gears to the park headquarters. A guide will brief you about the next adventurous search for the great, gentle eyed apes. Move into the forest to begin the search. You are advised to wear long trousers because the forest has some beetles. Wear trekking shoes too because the ground is quite slippery. As you pass through the rain-forest, it is quite spectacular and offers a dramatic, heavily forested dense landscape which is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists.

This park is famous for the fascinating gorillas but the time taken to meet them is determined by the movements of these amazing primates and weather conditions. Gorilla safaris can last approximately 2-8 hours normally. When you get to meet the gorillas you will be filled with joy, spending an hour with them observing these gentle giant gorillas. You will notice that the gorillas are shy and peaceful animals. Return to your lodge to relax or move on for a community walk in the Batwa lands. Dinner and overnight at the lodge you booked.

Day 5-6: Transfer to Rwanda 4 to 5 hours drive. BLD

After your early morning breakfast, start your journey to Rwanda. The journey may take about 5 to 6 hours. Remember to adjust your clock because Rwanda is one hours behind (+1) Uganda. You will cross to Rwanda via Katuna boarder to Ruhengeri getting to Rwanda in the evening. Dinner and over night at

Day 7: Gorilla tracking safari Rwanda. BLD

Following your hearty breakfast, carry on to the ORTPN for briefing from the guide who will brief you on the next expedition. Move into the forest to search for the great apes. Please refer to our gorilla tracking guidelines and rules for what you need to know before trekking and what to carry for gorilla safaris. Move passed the lush trees of the forest searching for the gorillas that hide on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains. This is a magnificent experience that you ought to be part of.

You may get to the gorillas earlier, spend an hour with them and come back ready for lunch. At times you may need to be a little patient because your meeting the gorillas depends on there movement as they search for fruits. The moment you meet them, you are overwhelmed by your meeting with the great apes. You may even forget about the fatigue you had earlier. Spend an hour with the gorillas, taking there photographs and viewing the little ones as they play from the vines. Come back to your booked hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Drive to Kigali 2 and half hours drive

Have breakfast early in the morning then drive to Kigali the capital of Rwanda. Visit some of the genocide memorials like the Kigali genocide memorial, Nyamata genocide memorial and others. Visit other places like the Kigali museum, orphanages, communities and several other interesting places. Enjoy your lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Akagera. Game drive 2 and half hours drive BLD

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Akagera national park. Arrive the park before noon and then start you game drive through the park. Spend the whole day doing a game drive and then after check into your hotel. Lunch will be provided.

Day 10: Boat ride / Drive to Kigali. BL
