Detailed Itinerary

Day 1, Kigali city tour, museums, memorials, craft centres

At 9 am, begin your Kigali city tour with a visit to the Kandt Museum. After the museum, continue to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn more about one of the most important periods in Rwanda’s history. Later, visit the former presidential palace before ending the day at local craft centres, where you can learn more about how these crafts are made and the communities behind them. Day 6, Dian Fossey tombs, reconciliation sites, transfer to Kigali

After breakfast, visit the Dian Fossey tombs and learn more about her conservation work with mountain gorillas and the legacy she left behind in Rwanda. This is one of the most meaningful historical and conservation-related visits in the Volcanoes region. Later, begin the drive back to Kigali. On the way, you may visit the churches of Ntarama and Nyamata, as well as a millennium village, to learn more about Rwanda’s reconciliation journey over the past decades.
