Apoka safari lodge is one of the best and first luxury lodges in Kidepo valley national park. Located in the  Narus valley in the middle of the Kidepo wilderness and offers a very clear and beautiful scenery across a large area of the park. Given its location, you can see the animals from a far distance and from close as from the lodge’s compound. At the lodge, you can see the jagged hills from a far, during the dry seasons the grass looks golden but greener during the wet season and throughout the year, these plains are always dotted with different wildlife species.

The Rooms:

Built using local materials, Apoka safari lodge has 10 luxury grass thatched rooms. They are all very spacious with king size beds with soft bedding suitable for the hot climate as it is in this region, wide windows with an endless view, a sitting area and hand-woven carpets. They are decorated with some of the most amazing African crafts work. All rooms have got  large private decks where you can relax  as as you watch the birds and the animals. Wildlife can be spotted in this area even from your veranda.  Animals that are commonly spotted include; elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, different types of antelopes, so many zebras and in the night, lions too sometimes visit.

They have en-suite bathrooms with wall showers and hot water flowing. More to this is the outdoor huge stone bathtub where you can relax from in the evening as you watch the sun set in the evening.

Amenities;

The lodge also has a swimming pool which you will find very useful especially since Kidepo national park is located in a semi-arid area. It is cool and deep, carved out of a huge rock therefore so very unique.

The lodge has a restaurant that serves excellent meals prepared by the best chefs from a spacious and well-organized dinning area. They serve both local and international dishes and orders are made prior for better preparations. In addition, you can also get all kinds of fine drinks, wines, beers, spirts and other drinks from the well-stocked bar. This is open all the time.
