Rooms and Accommodation at Apoka Safari Lodge

Built using local materials, Apoka Safari Lodge has 10 spacious luxury thatched rooms that blend naturally with the surrounding wilderness. Each room is designed for comfort in Kidepo’s warm climate, with a king-size bed, comfortable bedding, wide windows with sweeping views, a sitting area, and hand-woven carpets. The interiors are finished with African-inspired craft details that give the rooms warmth and character. All rooms have large private decks where guests can relax while watching birds and wildlife in the surrounding area. One of the highlights of staying here is that animals can often be seen from the veranda. Elephants, buffalo, warthogs, zebras, and several antelope species are commonly spotted nearby, while predators may sometimes move through the wider area at night. Each room has an en suite bathroom with a wall shower and reliable hot water. A standout feature is the large outdoor stone bathtub, where guests can unwind in the evening while enjoying sunset views over the landscape.

Facilities and Guest Experience at Apoka Safari Lodge

The lodge also has a swimming pool, which is especially welcome after time spent exploring Kidepo Valley National Park’s semi-arid landscape. The pool is cool, deep, and carved out of a huge rock, making it one of the lodge’s most distinctive features and a memorable place to relax during the warmer part of the day. Apoka Safari Lodge also has a spacious and well-organised dining area where guests are served carefully prepared meals. Both local and international dishes are available, and meals can be arranged in advance to suit guest preferences and dietary requirements. The well-stocked bar offers wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks, and other refreshments, giving guests a comfortable place to unwind after a game drive.
