Detailed Itinerary
Day 1, Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park, King’s Palace and museum visit
In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours. On the way to the park, you will visit the King’s Palace and the Natural History Museum before continuing to Nyungwe. Day 2, Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe, afternoon canopy walk
Today you will go chimpanzee tracking in the park. The trek starts very early at 5 am, and the tracking time usually ranges between 2 and 4 hours. Return to the lodge after the trek, and later in the afternoon, go for the canopy walk.
Day 3, Return to Kigali, optional Kigali city tour
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali. If you wish, you may also do a Kigali city tour at the end of the trip before drop-off in Kigali. This marks the end of your 3-day Nyungwe chimp safari.
