Papaya Lake Lodge
Papaya lake lodge is a luxury lodge located just outside Fort portal town. It is a very beautiful combination of tradition and modern structure overlooking a beautiful crater lake. Given the fact that it is located within the crater lakes region, the lodge is surrounded by lots of green, beautiful landscape and has a clear view of the Rwenzori mountain Ranges.
Cottages:
This lodge has 9 luxury and spacious cottages that are privately stationed and each has amazing clear view of the scenic terrace since they are built along the slopes of the volcano. All rooms have very comfortable beds and beddings. The ninth cottage is a family cottage that can accommodation over 6 people. With 3 bedrooms the family cottages is double stored , has fireplace and it is extremely spacious.
All rooms have their bathroom decorated with beautiful stones, they all have got scenic verandahs with chairs where you can rest from after a long day and they all overlook Lyantonde Lake.
Amenities:
The lodge has full time electric supply that is supplied through the solar system. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered to guests, housekeeping is done on time. Laundry services are offered on request but it is more suitable for those staying longer at the lodge. Massage services are offered too, and can be done from the secrecy of your room, at an extra fee. Which is perfect for those doing the trek. The lodge also has a swimming pool if you wish to relax and cool off during the drier months of the year .
Papaya lake lodge, runs a restaurant where meals are served, featuring both Continental and International meals, catering from all groups of people, with different dietary requirements too including children.
What to do while staying at Papaya.
There are several activities that you can engage in during your time at Papaya. Popular among these is the primates tour done in Kibale forest National park. Kibale national park is famous for the different species of primates that inhabit this forest.
Bird watching is also a common activity done in the Kibale region. You can also choose to go Rwenzori mountain hiking or visit the hot springs. Another option, would be to go explore the craters lakes in the area.
