4 days Ngamba Island Chimp Trek Safari

The 4 days Ngamba Island tour offers you an opportunity to spend two nights on the island. Therefore giving you an opportunity to participate in most of the different activities that the island has to offer.  This trip ofcourse starts early in the morning at 6am if you spent the previous night in Kampala or at 7am, if you spend the night in Entebbe areas. 

Tour Highlights

  • Day 1: Transfer to Entebbe- proceed to the island by Boat- Half Day Chimpanzee viewing.
  • Day 2: Challenge the Chimp Critical Thinking/Sunset Boat cruise.
  • Day 3: Fishing / Cultural dance.
  • Day 4: Afternoon transfer back to Entebbe / Transfer to your hotel.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Entebbe- proceed to the island by Boat- Half Day Chimpanzee viewing. 

Depending on where you will have  spent your previous night, you will be picked up from your hotel to drive and transfer to the landing site. If you are being picked from Kampala, it will take 45 minutes to arrive the Landing site.  If you are in Entebbe, the Landing site is just 10 to 15 minutes away.  Arrive the landing site, to meet a representative of the island who will brief you about the entire trip and the boat ride. Later get on the boat and proceed to the island. The boat ride will take 45 minutes arriving at around 9am. 

On arrival at the island, listen to the guide as he will brief you about the island. He will proceed to check you into your cottage. After checking you will go view the chimpanzees feed  and then later you will have lunch and retire at your lodge to relax. Relax at the lodge as you watch plenty of birds and other micros organisms inter-relate.  Overnight at Ngamba Eco lodge. 

Day 2: Challenge the Chimp Critical Thinking /  Sunset Boat cruise.

Today, you will participate in understanding and challenging the critical thinking of these great apes. This is aimed at aiding in their health and mental development. This is more like dealing with a toddler and challenging them to crawl or even walk or get something to eat.  After this you will in the afternoon, go for a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria to watch fisher men as they cast their nets and also spot fishing villages as the sun sets on the lake. 

Day 3: Fishing / Cultural dance.

Today you will go fishing for 4 to 8 hours and try to catch some of the largest Nile Perch in the world. Spend 4 to 8hours, fishing is some of the best known sites. Catch your fish and take pictures, before releasing them back into the Lake. Later return to the lodge for lunch. Then in the evening by the bone fire you will be treated to a cultural dance, and story telling by the locals. 

Day 4: Afternoon transfer back to Entebbe / Transfer to your hotel. 

Wakeup to a relaxed morning or you can choose to go participate in the feeding of the chimpanzees. Later in the afternoon, after lunch you will get on a boat and then head back to the main land. Your guide will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to the airport. Or your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe.
