5 Days Volcano Hike Mgahinga, Muhabura and Sabyinyo Safari
This 5 days Volcano hike takes you to trek Mgahinga, Muhabura and Sabyinyo 3 of the 8 volcanoes bordering Uganda, Rwanda and DR.Congo. These volcanoes are one of the hardest to climb and the trek starts and ends in Kisoro. The trip can also be altered to include gorilla trekking as an activity. One does not need to be experienced to trek or hike these mountains, however they need to bey physically fit. You might be wondering about the perfect day to do this tour? This volcano hike tour can be done anytime of the years, however they are better and easier during the dry months of the years.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kampala – Transfer to Kisoro.
At 8am after breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala to transfer to Kisiro. This is a long driver but the journey will take you to stop at the equator for photos, and in Mbarara for lunch before proceeding to arrive Kisoro in the early evening hours. Overnight at

Day 2: Hike Mgahinga volcano. 8km
Today we shall start off with hiking Mount gahinga which is the smallest of the 6 volcano virunga mountain ranges. The hike will take you up to the highest point which is 3474 metres above sea level. The hike will take you through swamp filled craters and giant lobelia and for those who are lucky you might spot golden monkeys en-route. The whole round trip journey takes a maximum of 6 hours. Return to the start point and be tranferred back to your hotel. Overnight at your previous hotel.
Day 3: Hike Mt Sabyinyo. 14km
Mt Sabyinyo derives its name from its shape as it looks like an old man’s tooth hence the name Sabyinyo. Hiking Sabyino will take 8 hours following a steep ascent up the ridge to the peak. The Peaks stands tall at 3669 m above sea level. On completion, one will have walked 14kms round trip. Overnight at previous hotel.
Day 4: Hike Mount Muhabura. 12km
Of the 6 volcanoes, Mount Muhabura has the highest peak standing tall at 4,127km above sea level. This is the most rewarding hikes, that once at the top one is rewarded with views, of the Bwindi impenetrable forest, the volcanoes, lake Edward and most scenic the Rwenzori mountain ranges. The hike will take you around 8hours walking a distance of 12km round trip. Overnight at your previous hotel.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala.
At 7am, we shall depart Kisoro to transfer back to Kampala arriving in the Evening. You will stop en-route for lunch and proceed to reach Kampala at around 4pm.
