Detailed itinerary
Day 1, Transfer to Entebbe, fly to Kidepo Valley National Park, Karamojong manyatta visit
In the morning after breakfast, depending on your flight departure time, you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Kidepo Valley National Park. Arrive in Kidepo in the afternoon and transfer to your lodge for check-in and a short rest. Later in the day, go for a visit to the manyattas of the Karamojong community to learn more about their traditional homesteads, way of life, dress, songs, and cattle culture. Overnight at: Budget UWA Bandas, Mid-range Kidepo Savannah Lodge, Luxury Apoka Safari Lodge.
Day 2, Morning game drive in Kidepo, afternoon wildlife drive
Go for a game drive very early in the morning in search of wildlife while animal activity is still high. This is the best time to look out for species such as buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and, if lucky, other predators. Return to your lodge before lunch for some rest during the hotter part of the day. In the afternoon, go for another game drive in the park for more wildlife viewing and wider landscape exploration. Overnight at your previous lodge.
Day 3, Karamojong cultural visit, Kidepo Valley nature walk
This morning, go for a more detailed cultural visit among the Karamojong to learn more about their daily life, local traditions, social structure, and cattle-based lifestyle. Later, return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, go for a guided nature walk in the Kidepo Valley area. During the walk, enjoy the scenery, learn more about the landscape, and look out for smaller wildlife, birds, and tracks that are often missed during game drives. Overnight at your previous lodge
Day 4, Fly back to Entebbe
Today you will transfer for your flight back to Entebbe, arriving in the afternoon. From there, connect to your onward flight out of Uganda. This marks the end of your 4 days Kidepo flying safari.
