At AA Safaris and Tours Ltd, with a strong background in conservation, we understand the importance of giving back to communities. This goes beyond preservation and focuses on the long-term conservation of forests, savannahs, rivers, lakes, and wetlands. We remain conscious of our actions during every safari and after each trip. Our goal is to ensure that every Uganda safari contributes to the protection of wildlife, supports local communities, and promotes sustainable travel across Uganda.
How Our Uganda Safaris Protect Wildlife and Natural Habitats
At AA Safaris and Tours Ltd, we limit unnecessary printing, reducing paper use and helping to conserve trees. This approach supports the protection of natural ecosystems that are essential for wildlife survival in Uganda. By reducing resource consumption, we ensure that tourism activities do not negatively impact the environments our travellers come to experience. During the gorilla safari, Uganda tours and holidays, our guides are authorised to prevent the improper disposal of plastics. Thus avoiding contamination of not just the national parks but also the routes to the parks and neighbouring communities.

Reducing Plastic Waste on Safari in Uganda
We use reusable cups for drinking water, reducing dependence on disposable plastic products. This helps lower the amount of waste that ends up in water bodies and on land. During gorilla safaris, wildlife tours, and other Uganda travel experiences, our guides actively monitor and control the improper disposal of plastics. This helps prevent pollution in national parks, access routes, and nearby communities. We ensure travellers experience clean, protected environments while supporting responsible tourism. We sponsor policy development and implementation on climate change and environmental issues through our partnership with EMLI.
Supporting Education for Orphaned Children in Uganda
We currently support the education of five orphaned children, with two now at university in their final years. Through this initiative, tourism directly contributes to improving access to education, giving vulnerable children the opportunity to build a better future. This reflects our commitment to ensuring that safari experiences benefit not only wildlife but also local communities.
Climate Change Action and Community Livelihood Support
We work with Environmental Management for Livelihood Improvement to train local communities in climate change adaptation practices. These programs help communities improve their income while protecting natural resources. By supporting sustainable livelihoods, we reduce pressure on wildlife habitats and promote long-term environmental conservation. We also contribute to policy development and implementation on climate and environmental issues through this partnership.
Women’s Empowerment Through Cycling Projects in Jinja
Part of the revenue from adventure activities such as cycling in Jinja is used to support women in the Busoga region by providing bicycles. These bicycles play a critical role in daily life. They help women respond to health emergencies, transport agricultural produce to markets, and generate income to support their families and children’s education. This initiative strengthens community resilience while linking tourism to real social impact.
Our Future Plans for Sustainable Uganda Safaris
Tree Planting for Carbon Offset Safaris
We plan to acquire land where each traveller can plant a tree during their visit. This will help offset carbon emissions generated during safari travel and contribute to long-term environmental restoration.
Expanding Education Support Programs
We aim to increase the number of orphaned children supported through school fees, extending the impact of tourism into more communities.
Developing an Eco Lodge in Uganda
We plan to develop an eco lodge that operates with minimal environmental impact while offering guests an authentic and responsible safari experience.
Transition to Eco-Friendly Safari Vehicles
We aim to introduce lower-emission safari vehicles to reduce the environmental footprint of our tours across Uganda.
