Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival BB

On arrival at the airport to you will meet our company representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. After check-in he will brief you about the trip and start time the following day. Overnight at .

Luxury – Serena Kigali or Radison Blue hotel or the Retreat.

Day 2: Kigali – Nyungwe. Canopy walk.  BLD 4hrs drive

In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. Nyungwe is 4 hrs drive away from Kigali, however you will stop by the King’s palace and national museum on the way to the park. Arrive the park in the afternoon, have lunch and then go participate in the thrilling canopy walk through the forest. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Luxury – One and only Nyungwe House.

Day 3: Colobus monkey trek in Nyungwe forest park. BLD

In the morning after breakfast, at 7:00am transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing through the forest start the search for colobus monkeys. Nyungwe forest is known to be home a great number of colobus monkeys, estimate to be about 200 of them. The trek will take 2 to 4 hours and then later you will return to the starting point. Free afternoon, or you can opt to go visit the tea plantation, to learn more about tea and coffee of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at the previous hotel.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trek- Nyungwe – Kibuye. BLD

Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe national park requires an early start and therefore you should be at the park headquarters by 6am. Later through the forest you will start the search for chimpanzees, and on meeting them you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures. Later return to the starting point. Meet up with your driver guide and then drive to proceed to Kibuye. Adventure activities, like Kayaking and so much more can be organized. Overnight at

Moderate – Moriah Hill resort.

Day 5: Kibuye – Gisenyi -Musanze – Kinigi of Volcanoes National park. BLD

At 8am you will depart Kibuye to drive and transfer to Gisenyi. This is a 3 to 4 hours and therefore, you should arrive the park in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.

Luxury – Bisate Lodge or Amakoro or Singita Kwitonda.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking

At 6:40, you will drive to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. During briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family for you to trek. Later on your will transfer to the starting point and along the trails, you will start the search for the gorillas. The walk through the forest is informative and very interesting as the head park ranger guide will tell more about the history of the gorilla family.

Once you meet the gorillas you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures and then later on return to the starting point where you guide will be waiting. In the afternoon, if you return early you can opt to go visit the twin lakes. Overnight at the previous lodge.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Trek.

Today we shall trek the golden monkeys on volcanoes national park. Golden monkeys live in large numbers in volcanoes park and they can be accessed by trekking through the forest along the sabyinyo mountain trail. The trek takes between 2 to 4 hours and therefore you should be back in time for lunch. Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 8: Optional activities / transfer back to Kigali- Airport drop. 

Today, you can opt to trek gorillas a second time , or evening go visit the Iby’iwacu community before you embark on the 3 hour journey back to Kigali Airport. End of 8 days Rwanda gorilla primates safari.
