Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth park. 

Early morning after breakfast, you will drive from Kampala to the southwest through Fort-portal town where you will stop over for lunch and continue to the park. On arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park, check in at the lodge in the afternoon and relax before leaving for an evening game drive on the Kasenyi plains. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury) / Kyambura Game Lodge (Mid-range) / Simba Safari Camp (Budget)

Day  2: Chimp tracking – Kyambura  gorge| Cultural Tour. 

Early morning you will transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimp tracking where you will get to watch the chimp play with one another, feed, watch as they do their day to day activities and later return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon after lunch, visit the Kikorongo Cultural Centre where you will meet the women in the community and learn how to make traditional bead necklaces, paper and baskets. Enjoy their cultural dances and drama performances by the group. Later go for an evening game drive on the Kasenyi plains before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury) / Kyambura Game Lodge (Mid-range) / Simba Safari Camp (Budget)

Day 3: Lion tracking | launch Cruise | Crater lake Drive 

Early morning after breakfast, you will meet the lion’s research team and go off road to track and monitor lions, monitor mongoose behaviour and contribute to valuable research project. Have lunch, later take a 2 hours boat-ride along the Kazinga Channel. You can as well go for an optional Crater Lake Drive to the Baboon Cliffs for an evening drink as you watch the sun set over the park’s rolling hills later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury) / Kyambura Game Lodge (Mid-range) / Simba Safari Camp (Budget)

Day 4: Guide walk | Katwa salt mines.

You will go for a guided walk around Lake Kikorongo to watch the different bird species that inhabit this lake and the surrounding forest. Later in the afternoon after lunch, visit Katwe Salt Lake and learn about traditional salt mining, then continue for a short walk to Lake Munyenyange to see lesser flamingos (August-November) and other birdlife. You will also go to Katwe Tourism Information Center (KATIC) to pick up your guide then go for an evening game drive on the Channel track and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury) / Kyambura Game Lodge (Mid-range) / Simba Safari Camp (Budget)

Day 5: Agro tour | Nature walk 

You will go for an Agro-Tour Walk through the community farmland to learn about farming methods, bee keeping, medicinal plants then drive to the Ishasha Sector for a picnic lunch on the Ishasha plains. After your lunch, you will go explore the Edward Flats and spot the park’s famous tree climbing lions. You will also take a nature-walk with the park’s guide along the Ishasha River. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury) / Kyambura Game Lodge (Mid-range) / Simba Safari Camp (Budget)

Day 6 : Game rive | Departure. 

Early morning after breakfast, you will go for your morning game drive through the Ishasha plains where you will see Uganda kobs, Buffalos, Tree climb lions, Topi, Elephants and other animals. Return to the lodge for lunch and later check out of the lodge, drive back to Kampala for your flight back home or stay at the hotel.
