Day 1: ARRIVE AT KIGALI AIRPORT

When you get to the airport, a safari driver from AA SAFARIS AND TOURS LTD will warmly welcome you and drive you to Nyungwe national Park. Have a stop over at the old place in Nyanza. Learn about the ancient culture of the Banyarwanda. Dinner and overnight at:

Day2: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING

Wake up early morning for breakfast, and after move on to Nyungwe Forest at 6:00am to look for chimpanzee.  At times these are referred to as the human cousins because they behave like humans. Watch them as they rise from there nests and begin there day. You will not only come a cross the chimps but there are primates like monkeys that also survive in the park. Birds are also in plenty but the majority are albertine endemics.  You will have a forest walk too as you continue with the search. Enjoy your lunch enroute. After the long day search, move back to the accommodation of your budget.

Day 3: CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning, our safari driver will pick you up from your overnight hotel and transfer you to Kigali for a mesmerizing city tour. Visit the Kigali genocide memorial, Gisozi genocide memorial, Murambi genocide memorial, the Kigali museum, Nyamirambo women’s centre and other tourist centers in Kigali. Enjoy your lunch enroute. Drive to Parc national des Volcans where you will have dinner and overnight at.

Day 4: GORILLA TRACKING IN VOLCANOES PARK.

After a warm breakfast, head to the ORTPN for briefing about your next expedition. Mountain Gorillas are some of the endangered prehistorical mammals that are currently found in Uganda Rwanda and Congo. They live in families and each has a dominant male called the silver back. At the moment, they are approximated to be 720 that still exist in the entire world. The guide will lead you into the luxuriant ever green forest to begin the search. You are advised to wear hiking shoes and long trousers because the forest is always damp and there may be some stinging insects. The time you get to see these apes is unpredictable so your patience is required. This search is between 2 to 8 hours. When you get to meet them, you will be filled with excitement to the extent of forgetting the tedious journey. Spend an hour with them, take there photographs and watch the young ones as they play from the vines. Return to your lodge to relax or visit the local community nearby in case you are not so tired. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your budget.

.Day 5: DRIVE TO UGANDA (LAKE BUNYONYI).

After the tasty breakfast, drive to Uganda passing Kisoro border. Carry on to the second deepest lava dammed lake of wonders, Lake Bunyonyi. At times it is refered to as the jewel of western Uganda. It is a haven for different types of birds. This unique lake is free from Bilhazia, hippos, crocodiles, mosquitoes and it is a nice place to relax at after a long drive. Dinner and overnight at:

Day 6: CANOEING /BOAT CRUISE

Following your break fast, take a tour to the eye captivating islands in Lake Bunyonyi.  You will have either a boat ride or go canoeing. See excellent birds like cranes, cattel egrets, pink-backed pelican, papyrus gonolek, black rumped buttonquail and so many other interesting birds. Enjoy your lunch and proceed to the Batwa communities (Pygmies). These are great entertainers, listen to there great history and the songs they sing to welcome you. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight at:

Day 7: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI

Have breakfast early in the morning to give you energy through out the day. Carrying your tracking gears move to the ranger station for another interesting adventure. This lasts between 2-8 hours so your patience is very vital. After encountering the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to stay in their presence for 1 hour. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: DRIVE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Following the second encounter with the only leftover mountain gorillas, drive to Queen Elizabeth. It is a biosphere reserve. Pass via the Ishasha sector which is famous for habouring tree climbing lions. You will also spot other animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, and antelopes among others on the way.  Dinner and overnight at:

Day 9: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE

Wake up early in the morning and head for a game drive especially in the crater sector of the park. You will have the chance to view animals like elephants, water bucks, bushbucks, Kobs, buffalos, giant forest hogs, topi, and so many interesting animals.  There are variety of both local and foreign birds too. See the eye captivating lakes like Lake Nyamunuka which has a putrid smell. It is also known as the hospital for the animals. Head for a fantastic launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. It has a beautiful avian life which includes both local and foreign birds like martial eagel, African skimmer, papyrus gonolek, the rare shoe bill to mention but a few. Return for dinner and overnight at the accommodation of your budget.

Day 10: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING

Early in the morning, take breakfast and drive to Kyambura gorge the home of Chimpanzees. Start the search for the human cousins. Search for the chimpanzee in the fig trees.  View our closest relatives (800 chimps population) and see what you can learn from them. There are also more primates like the vervet monkeys, blue and red tailed monkey, potto, black and white colobus and baboons. Return for lunch and drive to Lake Katwe the salt Lake that has existed for centuries. Come back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: DRIVE TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning, head to Murchison fall national park. It is along day’s drive. You are to pass via Hoima to the Park. Check in and have dinner plus overnight.

Day 12: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE IN MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning, move on for a game drive where you will have the chance of seeing early risers like leopards, lions, hyenas and several other animals that are returning to there hide outs. More animals you may spot include: giraffes, cape buffalos, hippos, oribi, warthogs, kobs to mention but a few. After lunch, head to river Nile for launch cruise. Watch the Nile waters as they pour down the high escapement forming a cloudy appearance. There are a variety of birds to see quenching there thirst from the river side. Some of these beautiful birds include: the sought after shoebill, yellow- footed fly catcher, ituri batis, martial eagel, papyrus gonolek and several other birds.  Return to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 13: DRIVE TO KAMPALA.

After breakfast, head to Kampala. On the way, have a stop over at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Continue to Kampala where you will have dinner and overnight at:

Day14: CITY TOUR

Early in the morning, drive to Mengo palace of Buganda, Naggalabi coronation site, visit the Katereke prison ditch. Head to Bahai Temple in Kikaya the only one of its kind in entire Africa. Continue to Namugongo Uganda Martyrs’ shrine where over 23 innocent Christians where burnt to death. Listen to its great history. Drive to the national museum and get back to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: RETURN HOME

After the long tour, drive to Entebbe airport for your return home flight.
