Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings (CHOGM 2022) is scheduled to start this 20^th of June 2022 in Rwanda the home of thousand hills, the home of gorilla safaris, the home of Rwanda Tours. During your free time , there are a number of places to visit in Kigali whilst attending CHOGM 2022. .

Common wealth government meetings usually take place, every two years, however this time around it has been a long wait for the common wealth government’s. A meeting the was scheduled to take place in 2020, will only and has only been confirmed that it will take place this month of June 2022.

All roads are now leading to Kigali, Rwanda the land of a thousand hills and the youngest, nation to join this group of parties. Rwanda joined Common wealth in 2018 and was granted an opportunity to host the Common wealth heads of Government Meeting in the year 2020. However, as we all know it, it couldn’t take place and they had to post ponded until this month of June 2022.

The Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings (CHOGM 2022), brings together delegations from 54 different countries, from almost all continents on planet earth. Its aim is to reinforce multilateral cooperation, explore new opportunities, and tackle common challenges for the well-being of the future generations.

CHOGM 2022 in Kigali Rwanda.

This CHOGM meeting will be one of kind and the first of a kind and the large kind of government and business meeting to take place, since the pandemic began. Common wealth leaders, are scheduled to travel to Rwanda the Home of the Mountain gorillas, the meetings are scheduled to take places between the 20^th and the 25^th of June.

The purpose of this meeting is to re-affirm their common values and also to agree on actions and polices to improve the livelihoods of their citizens. This years theme will be; ‘Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming, with a focus on “A Global Reset”,

The Official opening is scheduled to take place on the 24^th and this will be followed by the High-level meetings of the Heads of states, and other side events will be going on. Along side the meeting will be the Commonwealth business forum, where countries, connect, discuss and sit down to see how best to move the Commonwealth Business world.

There will be many meetings, but to benefit from it, you need to identify your niche and focus on your niche, that way, you will connect, learn a lot and make lasting partnership with the right people.

Visit the genocide memorial.

Once in Kigali, this is one of the sites that you can easily visit in Rwanda. Visit the Presidential Palace.

This is one of the frequently visited memorial sites. This was the home of the former president of Rwanda Juvenal habyrimana, who lost his life at the beginning of the Genocide. His plane was shot down and coincidentally, parts of the plan fell in his compound.

Milk Bars,

There are bars and restaurants, however, lots fo milk bars ae sprouting around Kigali and you can choose to visit one of the milk bars and learn more about milk. Also taste some of the freshest milk on planet earth. You can choose to take it with cocoa, tea or even coffee.

Local Markets.

A visit to the local markets, will offer you an opportunity to see and also learn about the day to day life of the Rwandans. Visit Kimironko market to buy not only the local freshly grown fruits and vegetables, but also some crafts and souvenirs.

Night Life.

There are clubs and pubs that are worth visiting, in Kigali. Explore the night life and see how the youth , go club hoping to learn more about the night life of the Kigali youth. Taste some of the locally brewed alcohol, some of the best in east Africa. Also causing around the deserted and well lighted streets of Kigali makes the ride picturesque.

Spare a day to go visit Akagera national park, to see the big five animals. The recently revived Akagera national park is one of the best places to view wildlife in the wilderness. Gorilla tracking is one of the activities that makes people, travel half way across the world just to meet these gentle giants.
