Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park.

In the morning at 7am, you will depart Kampala to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. The drive will take 6 hours arriving in the afternoon. Check in to your hotel and they go bird watching in the afternoon around the Katwe Area. Overnight at

Basic – Kazinga channel view hotel

Moderate – Marafiki or Ihamba safari lodeg

Luxury – Mweya safari lodge.

Day 2: Game drive/ Birding along Kasenyi area / Birding Along Kazinga channel

In the morning before sunrise, you will wake up to the sound of birds and have a cup of coffee or tea, before heading to Kasenyi area for a game drive and birding. Spend the entire morning there searching for birds . A picnic breakfast, will be provided and then later go have lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 3 hour boat cruise along Kazinga channel. The shores of the channel is blessed with plenty of birds, including pelicans, king fishers and so much more. Overnight at your previous lodge.

Day 3: Bird watching in Ishasha/ Transfer to Bwindi.

In the morning right after breakasft, you willdriev to transfer to Ishasha to go search for birds. This area is blessed with both savanah and wetland bird speces because of River Ishasha. In this area, you can also spot tree climbing lions. Later in the afternoon, you will drive to proceed to Bwindi national park. You can opt to go for a community walk, and therefore you should watch out for some birds. Overnight at

Basic- Buhoma community bandas / Kisoro travellers rest, Rushaga gorilla camp

Moderate – Gorilla mist camp, silverback lodge, Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge

Luxury – Gorilla forest camp / Clouds Lodge.

Day 4: Birding in Bwindi.

Today in the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to the park head-quarter for briefing. After briefing, through the forest, you will start your search for birds. You will walk along the Mubwindi water falls trail, that will reward us with plenty of birds. Spend the whole day in Bwindi birding and return on the evening. Bwindi has over 350 different species of birds with over 20 different Albertine rift endemics.  Overnight at previous lodge.

Day 5: Drive to transfer back to Kampala.

In the morning right after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to Kampala. On the way to Kampala, you will visit the equator and stop in Mbarara or lunch. Later drive to proceed and arrive Kampala in the evening. End of the 5 days birdwatching safari Uganda.
