7 Days Uganda Primates Safari

In a weeks time you can view wildlife, see gorillas, and also trek chimpanzees during this 7 days Uganda primate tour. the trip takes you to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi National parks. During the trip you can opt to stay in basic, moderate or luxury accommodations of your choice.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Kampala to Transfer to Kibale Park. 

Early in the morning, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Fort Portal passing via Mityana and Mubende. Break your journey at Mubende to visit the Nakayima tree. Enjoy a picnic Lunch on the way and move on to Fort portal / Kibale arriving late in the afternoon. Rest and explore the nearbyCrater Lake. Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking 

Rise up very early in the morning then prepare to go for a very interesting and still exiting expedition where you will be able to meet the human cousins in their natural habitat. Prior to this, you will go for a brief talk from the ranger at Kanyanchu. Your ranger will then guide you into the thick ever green forest where you will meet the chimpanzees.  Watch the vibrant birds squawking in through the tropical forest canopy. Enjoy your packed lunch and afterwards take an afternoon nature walk going passed the Bigodi swamp to wetland birds in addition to some of the projects run by local community.Retire in the evening, Dinner and Overnight at your preferred accommodation

Day 3: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth park. 

Having finished your warm cup of tea or coffee, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way into the park, you will be able to see some wild game like warthogs water bucks, antelopes, elephants birds and several other interesting animals. Take a tour to the local community salt works at Lake Katwe,a salty lake in Uganda. Get the opportunity of knowing more about the lake’s history and tasting the waters of this lake is a wonderful experience for those who have not tried tasting concentrated alkaline waters. Have lunch and afterwards go for an afternoon game drive. Relax in the evening, dinner and overnight: Luxury: Mweya/ Jacana lodge, Mid range: Ihamba lodge, Budget Accommodation: Institute of ecology/ Mwea hostels.

Day 4: Tracking chimpanzees in Kalinzu 

Wake up early in the morning and prepare to go for another exciting encounter with the chimpanzees. Chimpanzees are part of man’s closest relations and for that reason seeing them is a fantastic Adventure. You may have another alternative of taking a nature walk in the Maramagambo Forest to see various tree species, primates, the bat colony and the blue lake. Having finished your lunch, you are to get pleasure from an exciting and breathtaking launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel where various animals like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and an array of water birds can be spotted. Take photo graphs of the scenery and return for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: From Queen Elizabeth, transfer to Bwindi.

Take breakfast early in the morning and prepare to go to the land of the gorillas. You will go through either via Ishasha, the habitat of the tree climbing lion, or use the other route passed the cultivated expanses. This will depend on the road condition. Explore the village and the local communities if time permitting. Day 6:  Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest

Rise up early in the morning for a warm cup of tea and then carry with you your tracking gears.  Move into the thick Bwindi Impenetrable forest for gorilla tracking. Don’t forget your jungle boots because gorilla tracking involves walking up steep densely forested hills before finally coming across the rare gorillas camouflaged in the thick tropical vegetation. In case you have ample time, go for a leisurely community visit to the local communities living around the park for a cultural tour. Dinner and overnight Buhoma homestead / Buhoma Community bandas

Day 7: Depart to transfer to Kampala.

Early in the morning, depart for Kampala passing you through the ever green and beautiful countryside of Western Uganda. En route lunch and arrive in Kampala late afternoon.
