The  2 days gorilla safari Bwindi forest starts from Kampala and ends in Kigali or it can start from Kigali and end in Kigali.  This is the perfect gorilla trekking safari for those who have limited time or those who have two days to spare on their business trip in Uganda or Rwanda. It takes you to trek gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest park.

Bwindi forest is located in south Western Uganda and it is known to be a home to over 600 gorillas.   Therefore being home to half of the worlds remaining mountain gorillas. The park has 15 gorillas groups that are available for the gorilla trekking experience. There are also two groups under habituation and thus available for gorilla habituation experience.  Bwindi national park has a number of sections for gorilla trekking and some of these include; Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga.

Please note that some of these sections, are far apart and therefore, when booking a gorilla trek, you must make sure that the lodge you have booked is in the same region as the gorilla permits.

Day  1: Transfer from Kigali / Kampala to Bwindi Forest . 

Our 2 days gorilla safari Bwindi forest will start with a pick up from your hotel in either Kigali or Kampala. Pick up time is 8am after breakfast, before heading to  Kanungu district.

If you are driving from Kampala you will stop by the equator for photos . Later drive to proceed to  igongo cultural central to learn about the culture of the Ankole people. Please note that the drive from Kampala to Bwindi is between 7 to 9 hours drive. You can opt to fly from Kampala to Bwindi at an extra fee.

If you are driving from Kigali, the drive will take between 4 to 5 hours drive driving in the afternoon.

Overnight stay at Bakiga Lodge (budget) / Gorilla Mist Camp (mid-range) / Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury)

Day 2 : Track gorillas | Departure 

Have breakfast before 8am and then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. The briefing takes you through the gorilla trekking procedures  and, the “dos and don’ts” during gorilla tracking. The gorilla trek may take about 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants.  You will be in the company of the mountain gorillas for a maximum of an hour, enjoy them feed, play around as you do photography. After the gorilla adventure, you will drive to transfer to Kigali. Arrive Kigali in the evening. End of our 2 days gorilla safari Bwindi forest.
